Sanae Okamoto Interview

🎤🎥 We are proud to celebrate the inspiring contribution of our core group member Sanae Okamoto, who was recently interviewed by Dr. Umesh Palwankar, Executive Director at the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue.

Please see the video here.

As a summary, in the interview, she emphasized how climate change, while overwhelming in scale, also deeply affects our emotional well-being—especially among younger generations. As a psychologist, she highlighted the importance of addressing not only the facts but also the feelings that arise in the face of climate crisis.

🧠💬 Education emerged as a powerful solution—transforming anxiety into action through empathy, reliable climate communication, and community-level support.

Her reflections are closely tied to her work within our COST Action CliMent, where we focus on the intersection of climate change and mental health across Europe. Together, we are working to strengthen climate resilience through education, particularly for future generations.
